A real, inverted image is forming past the lens — but the screen is not parked on it, so the catch is blurry.
The bench never prints the image distance — predict it from 1/f = 1/do + 1/di, or hunt for it with the screen. Ray colours: orange parallel→F, sky F→parallel, violet through the centre.
